Europe is the second most visited travel destination by Chinese tourists, and France is one of the strong names in the field. To increase the number of tourists, France is planning to simplify the visa process and improve security to attract Chinese visitors. Jean-Yves Le Drian, Foreign Minister of France, confirmed it on February 16th, 2018. He said in a meeting with a Chinese business group. This year, France targets to achieve a zero incident status and the protocol have been implemented at hotels that receive the maximum number of Chinese tourists. The new protocol also lets Chinese citizens able to to get visa within 48 hours at 15 locations in China. In 2017, the Schengen area received 1.8 million Chinese visitors, which the French minister is grateful about this. That’s a high number. It finally increased after the 2015 terror attack. It signifies that the recovery has started. To attract the most number of Chinese tourists to France, he said that the government needs to make sure that the Chinese feel they are welcome and safe. The government also aims at improving domestic tourism activities in Paris that promote famous traditional sites.
