The British Embassy at Manila has declared all the reports as faux which talk about visa-free travel arrangements for the Filipinos willing to go to the UK.
The statement released by the new United Kingdom Embassy media and information officer, Monica Cantillero said: “No, the UK is not visa-free.”
The announcement, ‘the UK is now visa-free for Filipinos’, quoting British Prime Minister, Theresa May, have been circulating on social networking sites. The false reports circulating online say that the Prime Minister has waived visa requirements for3 countries across the globe, which include Republic of S.A. and Rwanda also, other than the Philippines.
According to the reports, the announcement was made after a consultation with the Head of Foreign Missions of the three countries in the United Kingdom and with Rt. Hon Boris Johnson, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, United Kingdom.
The decision was made after considering the political, socio-economic and human right policies formulated in past sixty months by various nations including the members of Commonwealth countries.
