According to the Federal Statistics Data, Germany’s population recorded its highest number in 2015. Germany has not seen an increase like that in last 20 years. This exponential increase can be attributed to the migrant influx that happened from Middle East, Africa and some other European countries during 2015.
As compared to 2014, the migration figures have doubled in 2015. Recent attacks done by Islamic extremists at several locations in the country sparked a debate on pros and cons of having an open gate policy on migration. According to experts, limited knowledge of migrants on German culture and its language might cause huge implication on country’s social safety.
German chancellor Angela Merkel stood strongly on her “open gate” policy and affirmed that there are no connections between the rising terror attacks and high migrant intake. She said that asylum seekers aren’t terrorists.
