In the year 2018, the e-visa fee for the UK and the US that account for the tremendous number of international tourist arrivals was doubled to $100 from the previous $50 fee, and for most other nations to $80, resulting in tourists preferring destinations such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Dubai over India.
Talks are on to decrease the e-visa fee to the previous fee that is $50, as it will benefit India compete with Thailand, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Dubai announced a source confidential with the matter.
