Russia has embarked on the plan to increase the entry points from where most overseas visitors, can undertake their journey.
Its President, Vladimir Putin, has signed a decree, stating that these travelers can visit St. Petersburg and Leningrad, from Oct. 1, 2019, for a maximum period of eight days. It reads that the overseas citizens can enter/leave Russia by using the checkpoints in St Petersburg/Leningrad region, on a single-entry, using the tourist, business, and humanitarian visas, on electronic augmented documents.

It is easy and simple to obtain, and makes foreign travel totally hassle-free.
The persons, intending to visit these places, for eight days maximum, can use the e-Visas. As per an official of the Russian Embassy, the e-visas, are issued based on the decision of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Russia, when a foreign citizen, makes the request, by filling out the details, on the ministerial website.
