The country revised its plan on Saturday that is on January 20th, 2018 that from January 21st, 2018 allowing tourist groups of 24 countries. Pakistan Tourism and Development Corporation acknowledged the revised plan.

The country has been trying to revise its tourism sector for years now, and they’ve finally done that. Mukhtar Ali, an officer from Pakistan Tourism and Development Corporation, said that they made the decision after talking with all the stakeholders. They’d developed a similar plan in the year 2007 also, but because of the law and politics of that time, they had to reverse it. The government is now stable, and there’s more they can do now. Federal Investigation Agency tweeted that want to relax the visa rules to make Pakistan more tourist-friendly.

After tourists arrive in Pakistan, they have to meet immigration officer and have all necessary documents to qualify for the visa-on-arrival. The government is hoping to boost international tourism through it. Some of the 24 countries that are eligible for the 30-day multiple entry visas are United Kingdom, Canada, the US, Germany, Belgium, Finland, and Luxemburg. Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, managing director, Pakistan Tourism, and Development Corporation, said that this year the government will mainly focus on Pakistanis living in foreign countries and foreign tourists.

Rank by British Backpacker Society

The British Backpacker Society ranked Pakistan as the most adventurous place to visit in 2018. Majority of international tourists mainly come from the western nations and not from Arab nations. So that’s why they want to focus more on western tourists. Most of them visit Pakistan for adventures and mountaineering. After 2013, tourism has dramatically increased in Pakistan, after people visiting the country told their friends and family that the country is safe. In 2017, nearly 1.7 million international tourists visited Pakistan and with the new rules will increase it even further.
