Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have started issuing an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canada's Parents and Grandparents Program. The government of Canada gives its citizens as well as permanent residents that are above age 18 the opportunity of sponsoring their parents and/or grandparents permanent residence in the country via its Parents and Grandparents Program. The invitations to apply for permanent residence through this program are issued according to the order at which interests were received in the Sponsor forms on January 28 - submission period. IRCC sent out the first set if invitations on April 24 and clarified that some potential sponsors may have to wait a few days to get theirs. The agency also stated that all invitations are forwarded to the mail indicated on the Sponsor forms but urged sponsors to check their junk mail folder as there is a possibility that some invitations end up there. Starting from the day of receiving an invitation, sponsors have only 60 days - two months - to submit a complete sponsorship application. 20,000 complete applications to Parents and Grandparents Program is the target set for 2019 by IRCC and will not hesitate to conduct more invitation rounds to see this target met.
