On Wednesday, 6th March, the province of Saskatchewan issued out 138 invitations to apply for nomination by the province of Saskatchewan for Permanent Residence in Canada to applicants in the Occupation In-demand and Express Entry sub-categories. In the Express Entry Sub-category, 70 Invitations were issued out, while in the Occupation In-Demand Sub-category, 68 invitations were issued. The Express Entry Sub-category in Saskatchewan gives the province the liberality to nominate a set number of skilled workers in the Express Entry System who are qualified based on the provinces’ standards. Applicants who are nominated by a province are awarded 600 extra points to add to their Comprehensive Ranking System Score, thus raising their chances of being invited to apply for Permanent Residence in Canada. For an applicant to be nominated by the province of Saskatchewan under its Occupation In-Demand or Express Entry sub-categories, he or she must, first of all, enter an Expression of Interest profile with the province’s nominee program. Qualified candidates are then graded based on factors like age, work experience, language proficiency and adaptability to the province. Applicants in the Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry Sub-Categories are expected to have work experience in a high skilled occupation listed in the In-Demand Occupations for the province. Specific number applicants with the highest scores in both sub-categories are given invitations to apply for nomination by the province in the regular draws.
