Introduction of Progress Bar for Express Entry Applicants

On the 12th of December, 2018 a Progress Bar for the Express Entry System of Canada will be brought on board. Express Entry Applicants for the Canadian Immigration were given this information on Friday, 7th of December by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The progress bar is designed to keep the Express Entry applicants updated on the processing of their applications. On the 12th of December, they will be made to see the progress bar which entails the date in which their applications were received, and the time that has gone by since then. Applicants will now be able to tell an estimated date for their applications to be completed depending on the maximum processing time ever used. The IRCC has promised to inform the applicants once the Progress Bar for their individual applications is available.

Admission Timeframe Introduced

The Federal Economic Immigration Programs consist of the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trade Class. These are the three modes of application open to Express Entry Candidates under the Federal Economic Immigration Program. At the beginning part of the year, IRCC had made the public aware of new methods of determining the processing times for some programs in the Canadian Immigration applications, hence giving applicants more accurate estimates. Before now, processing times were estimated based on retrospective data. This latest achievement indicates progress on the path of the IRCC in their effort to give applicants a better idea of when the decisions on their applications would be made. Although the IRCC has a Target of finalizing decisions on Express Entry Applications within a time frame of six months from submission, some Applications have already waited longer than the estimated time. This notwithstanding, some other applications have been comfortably processed just within a few months.
